Bulk mulch being dumped from the trailer

Bulk mulch, not a stack of bags

How much mulch a bed around here actually needs, and why bulk beats the bag stack.

Bags take all weekend

A typical front bed on a brick colonial here is measured in yards, not bags. We bring bulk hardwood, spread 2–3 inches, and recut the edge. Too deep against the stems and you get voles. Too thin and you're looking at dirt by July.

When to mulch

Spring after cleanup, or fall after the ground cools. First frost around October 1 means late-October mulch can insulate perennials — too early and you trap summer moisture. We'll time it with the rest of the job.

Just the material is fine

Plenty of homeowners want the load dumped in the drive and they'll spread it themselves. That's a normal run for us. Gravel, stone, and topsoil use the same trailer.

Common questions

How many yards of mulch do I need?

A small front bed can be 1–2 yards. A full-property refresh is often 4–8. Send photos and approximate bed width — we quote by the yard, not a guess.

Do you deliver to 48306 and 48307?

Yes. Those are home ZIP codes. We work those streets all the time.

Need the work done?

We do mulch, cleanups, ponds, and hauling out of Rochester.
