Planting & Garden Beds

Shrubs and perennials that can take the clay and the winter.

The job

Clay, road salt, and a short season kill the wrong plant. We put in shrubs and perennials that belong here, at the right depth, and mulch them the same day.

A lot of front yards just need the dead yews pulled and the holes filled. That's most of what we plant.

We source locally, backfill, water in, and take the old plants with us so you're not left with a pile.

Send photos if you want a simple plan first. We'll tell you what's realistic for the light and the money.

What's included

  • Shrubs, perennials, and ornamental grasses
  • Dead plant removal and bed refreshes
  • Mulch and edging included on request
  • Plants chosen for Michigan clay and winter

We write down what's included before we start. If the job gets bigger, we ask first. The debris leaves with us.

A few questions

Do you plant shrubs that survive Michigan winters?

We install plants that belong in this clay — hydrangeas, hostas, boxwood, yews, grasses — not impulse-buy tropicals.

Do you remove dead plants first?

Yes. Dead yews and the plants that didn't make it come out, then we plant and mulch. The old stuff leaves with us.
